Teen Court/Teen Court Too hosts first-ever virtual Attorney Training
On May 1, 2021, 27 teens and preteens, ages 10-17, eagerly logged on to Zoom for the first-ever virtual Manatee County Teen Court Attorney Training. The Teen Court Attorney Training is part of the Manatee County Teen Court/Teen Court Too program.
Teen Court/Teen Court Too is designed to stop youthful delinquent behavior before a pattern is established.
In the attorney training, the participants gain legal and judicial knowledge, practice public speaking, and earn volunteer hours towards graduation, Bright Futures, and additional scholarship programs. In addition, everyone who completes the training has an opportunity to be a Teen Court/Teen Court Too attorney in actual criminal cases.
Teen Court Supervisor Yantee Hines Sr., Teen Court Coordinator Vicky Alvarez, and former attorney Chris Melody host the Teen Court Attorney Training. Our next attorney training is Saturday, July 31. Unfortunately, due to high demand, this training is already full.
If you are interested in learning more about Teen Court/Teen Court Too, please contact Yantee Hines Sr. by phone at (941) 741-4027 or by email Yantee.Hines@manateeclerk.com.
