Foreclosure and Eviction Proceedings Continue in Manatee, Sarasota and Desoto Counties…
In accordance with Executive Order 20-211, extending Executive Order 20-180, entered by Governor Ron DeSantis on August 31, 2020, and local court administrative order, there remains a limited extension of relief for single-family mortgagors and residential tenants adversely affected by the COVID-19 emergency until October 1, 2020. The order does not provide for the suspension of other types of mortgage foreclosures or eviction proceedings.
The Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office is still accepting filings from property owners for evictions and foreclosures. The Clerk of Court is also able to move forward with issuing summons, proceed with sales, and the issuance of titles and writs of possession on specific cases described within the order.
