Manatee Child Support Program earns top marks in state vulnerability assessment
Florida Department of Revenue finds zero findings in latest federal tax information review
Bradenton, Fla. (May 7, 2025) – The Manatee Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Child Support Program (CSP) has received a clean report from the Florida Department of Revenue’s Office of Inspector General following a recent on-site vulnerability assessment.
The inspection, conducted in accordance with the Internal Revenue Service’s Federal Tax Information (FTI) template, resulted in zero findings. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure agencies handling federal tax information comply with IRS Publication 1075—guidelines designed to safeguard sensitive data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
“This outcome reflects our team’s ongoing commitment to ensuring data security and integrity,” said Brea Styles, Director of the Child Support Program. “We take the responsibility of protecting personal and financial information seriously and are proud of this validation of our processes.”
IRS Publication 1075 outlines the security controls state and local agencies must follow to protect federal tax information. The zero-findings result means the CSP meets or exceeds all required standards.
Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Angelina “Angel” Colonneso commended the team’s efforts. “This assessment confirms the high level of professionalism and care the Child Support Program demonstrates every day,” said Colonneso. “Protecting sensitive data is critical to maintaining the public’s trust.”
The audit was part of a routine review by the Florida Department of Revenue and the IRS, which periodically assesses local programs with access to federal tax information.
