Florida Governor extends order to prevent renters and homeowners from losing their homes.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis, extended Executive Order 20-94, as extended by Executive Orders 20-121 and 20-137, until 12:01 am on August 1, 2020, which gives a limited extension of relief for mortgage foreclosures and evictions relief. The original Executive Order, 20-94, was set to expire July 1, 2020. The extension means that individuals that rent or own a home with a mortgage are protected from property owners taking possession of their homes through July 31, 2020.
The Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office is still accepting filings from property owners for evictions and foreclosures. At this time, the Clerk of Court cannot move forward with issuing summons on these cases.
