Clerk Awarded for Financial Reporting Excellence

For the 24th consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, Angel Colonneso with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Manatee County Port Authority’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

“I am honored to be presented this award as it reflects the diligence and accuracy of the Finance Department,” says Angel Colonneso, “My office strives to provide the highest level of service and information to our citizens with these reports and it is a pleasure to be recognized by the GFOA as doing such.”
