Where is the Palmetto Historical Park located?

The Palmetto Historical Park is located on the southwest corner of 10th Ave. W and 6th St. W. in Palmetto. Parking is available behind the buildings.

Is there a fee to enter the Historical Park?

There is no fee to visit the Park, but donations are welcome and encouraged.

What hours is the Park open?

We are open from 10:00 am to 12 noon and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Tuesday through Friday and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.

What is there to see at the Park?

We have the Carnegie Library, which was built in 1914, the 1880 post office, the 1920 one room schoolhouse, the circa 1900 cottage, the Military Museum and the chapel, which is a replica.

Will there be someone to give me a tour?

Stop by our office, located in the Carnegie Library and a staff member will be happy to escort you through the buildings during operating hours.

Do you give tours for school children at the Park?

Yes, we have school field trips on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm during the school year. Teachers must make reservations in advance as we book up very quickly. They can do this by calling (941) 723-4991.
