Visitors may tour the 1860 Courthouse, the 1887 Church, the One Room Schoolhouse, the Old Settler’s House, the Potter Barn, the Sugar Cane Mill and Smokehouse, the Wiggins Store, a blacksmith shop, a 1913 Baldwin Steam locomotive, the Fogarty Boatworks and a Cowhunter Bunkhouse. Will there be someone to give me a tour of the Historical Park?
If you come to the Park during regular hours between October and May, there may be a volunteer available to escort you through the Park. If there is no volunteer available, you can take a self-guided tour of the Park using our guidebook.
For docent-led group tours, there is a $3.00 per person fee, and a minimum group size of ten (10). Reservations must be made at least two (2) weeks in advance. For more information or to make reservations for a docent-led group tour, please contact Christine Brown at 941-749-7165.

Do you give tours for school children at the Historical Park?
Our school program is free of charge, and is designed for grades 4 and up. All school programming takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. The school program has many different offerings for teachers to choose from, but students will only visit part of the Park on the trip. School teachers must make a reservation in advance for their class to visit the park by calling 941-749-7165 for a field trip application. The maximum number of classes we can accommodate each day is 3. We book up very quickly so teachers are urged to make their reservation early in the school year.
Can I have my special event at the Historical Park?
Yes, we allow weddings, receptions, baptisms, memorial services, and other special events at the Park. You can choose between the 1887 church, or if you prefer an outdoor venue, the courtyard gazebo. The cost varies depending upon when and how long you would like to use the Park. Contact Christine Brown, at 941-749-7165, for information or to make a reservation.
